Oh, hi there! I'm Marvin DeWhite, but you can call me Marvin. Why not take some time to look around my website, or visit other exciting websites like the Odyssey Scoop, or even the Official Whit's End Website? There's always something exciting to do here! So, see you around.

The New Characters

Today, the topic is about the new characters on AIO. A police officer under the name David Harley says:
"This is what 31899 and I think: Whit has a bad haircut and looks greasy, the vest on Eugine is not a sweater vest, Wooton shouldn't be fat, Connie looks like a preppy jerk. The Parkers: Olivia looks like Liz, Mathew looks like a nerdy version of Grady, Camilla looks like a white Tamika, David looks like George Barkley, Ava looks like an older version of Donna."
And another fan in Dallas says:
"NOOOOOOOOOO! They ruined Eugene! (Okay, so maybe I don't hate the new picture that much) It's not a terrible picture, but I don't see the reason for the updated version. It wouldn't even be that bad if it was just Eugene with a new hair cut, but everything about him is different. I'll say the same exact thing I did about the new Whit picture when I said that the picture isn't a horrible fit for Eugene, but I will absolutely never picture Eugene looking like that. Ever. I don't even want to look at the picture anymore, in fear that it will affect my image of him in my head. The good new is, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think these new pictures are only going to be on albums 51 and newer, but on the cover remakes and stuff it will be the same old character designs right?
Connie's picture really isn't that bad. I'll still picture her with a ponytail, but it's nice to finally see her out of that green Sweat Suit. And for those of you who wanted a fat Wooton, we've got it."
Personally, Connie looks a little too fashionable for me. She looks OK without her ponytail, but she should look more casual. Whit has been totally and drastically changed for the worst. Eugene looks so much more fatherly, and so much nicer with his eyes. As for the Parkers, they all look nice. They look like an adorable family.
So, why not post your own thoughts about it here?

Subscribe!

Well, if you click here, you'll be able to subsribe to my feed. It took a bit of time, but, hah, I got it! I hope you subscribe, because I try to update every single day.
Now, I was thinking about starting a contest on the ToO after the elections. It will be Adventures in Odyssey related, just in case you wanted to know. I won't give any details now, but it will be fun, and I will be giving prizes per winner. I don't know how much money yet, but I'll figure out something.
And now, since my stomach is growling, I'll be going. See ya!

Whit the Horticulturist?

In True Calling, we hear that John Avery Whittaker, at one time, had thought of becoming a horticulturist. Can you imagine Whit being a plant lover? Not that it's wrong, but....I mean, Whit=Ice-cream man. So, that's what I think.
Our house is going under total renovations now. They're repainting everywhere and fixing all the cracks in the house. No privacy now...
Whenever I find a quote from AIO I like, I will post it here. So, here's the one I like now:

Changes

Well, as you see, I've done some changes to my blog today! I hope you like them, and if you want to comment about the changes, feel free to do so! =) I'm right now working with my little brother on his spelling list, so my mind is in 2 places. Hehe, never mind me.
On the ToO, there are 2 teams in the elections, Team U, and racecar. I know who I'm going to vote for. Until God bids,

Random News!

Hectic day for me, sorry I haven't blogged. We went to a graduation at a church today, so now I can blog a bit.
There's this interesting website created by an AIO fan called AIO Fan Insanity Check out her website!
Also, The Odyssey Scoop could use some donations to keep it running. So, consider sending some pennies their way!

Comments!

Well, on the Odyssey Scoop, Jacob has now put a place to comment! Here's what he said:

As you may have noticed, I've been changing the look of how this blog looks. Today I am proud to be able to share that you can now post your own follow-up comments to each blog entry from now on! What does that mean? You can see what others think about the current topic of the day and and even add your own thoughts. I figured it was about time the Scoop got updated to the 21st Century. I won't be updating all the old blog entries from the past nine years as it would be too massive of an undertaking. So for 2010 and beyond, you now have more of a voice! Thanks to everyone who contacted me over the past few months and years regarding improvements to the site.

So, head on over there and post comments!

Mishaps

Well, this morning, my brother spilled my hot chocolate all over himself and my food. So much for my peaceful breakfast. Then, my mother let the washing machine run with water and soap--no clothes. So we have a washing machine full of foamy soap.

On the world of Odyssey, there has been much complaint about the new look of John Avery Whittaker. Why not post your thoughts here?

Random Notes

Well, let me begin by saying sorry that I haven't been able to update since Friday. But I'm back!
First thing, I'd like to thank all of you who prayed for the pastor in Haiti. They were in Haiti but on some mountain, and stayed up there the whole time. They made it back home on Friday, I think.
Secondly, I'd just like to say...be sure to check out Campbell County. It's a ton of fun!

Album 51!

At least we know the names for the episodes in Album 51.
They are:
The Inspiration Station I, II
Clutter
Game for a Mystery
Target of the Week
For the Birds
When You're Right, You're Right
Grandma's Visit
Finish What You...
The Jubilee Singers I, II, III

Personally, I can't wait for Take it From the Top to come out. You can also look at the album cover right here. What do you think about it? Personally, I don't like the new logo. Be sure to leave your comments on this!

Please Pray!

First of all, the winners are out on the Odyssey IQ Test. Congrats to the winners. Secondly, there've been more than 100 visitors here! Hurray!

Finally, a church pastor we know from Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ, just went to Haiti a few days ago. There was a 7.0 earthquake there, and nobody knows if he's alive or not. Please be praying for him and all the other people with him, and for everyone in Haiti.

The Winner Is...

The winner of the name for the website I may create is: www.theaiofanslife.com. The votes were 3-2 in favour of the one mentioned above.
I'm writing a story to post of FanFic. It's about abortion, so when I'm done, I'll post the link here...it's sorta long.
And there's no Odyssey news today...except that you should check out the Odyssey Scoop on January 13 for the winners of the Odyssey IQ Test!

Accidental Dillema

The title says it all. Today Whits End is playing another part from Album 50. Be sure to listen to this exciting story.
If you haven't voted on my poll, please do so. And BTW, who was in Singapore? That was cool!
Marvin D.
PS Since it isn't snowing here, it nearly rained, and it's grown real dark here, so I'm sitting in front of a computer screen in an almost dark room.

Hoot hoot!

Hurrah for 50 visitors now (not counting myself)! Thanks for taking your time to view my blog. Speaking of blogs, I think I'm gonna change my blog to a website. I need a name for it. What should it be? It's up to you people to choose a name. So take the poll everyone! Please?? Anyways, I need to get going. Later!

What should my website be named (if I make one)?

15th ToO Elections & Poems

Hello everybody! We just got rid of some of our computers at our house! Goodbye, Windows 95!
You can check out my election platform (with snubs) on the Town of Odyssey by clicking here. What do you think? And BTW, congratulations to whoever's in Alaska! 3 cheers to you! And now, I'm going to post 2 poems I wrote. Both were school assignments. The first one was just supposed to be a short poem describing a character trait.

Always try to be humble,
No matter the situation, let humility show;
Humility wears soft slippers, tiptoes out of the spotlight,
Always be humble.

And the second one is a paraphrase from a section of the poem, The Present Crisis by James Russell Lowell.

There comes a time where all must choose between right and wrong,
In the struggle between Good and Evil, the right or the wrong side;
Jesus, our Savior, offers us either peace or misery,
Sends the believers to one side, those who oppose Him to the other,
The decision made is final, you’ve chosen eternal night or day.

Has everyone decided with who their future is,
While Evil sends his dust in our direction?
Whilst doom is still at work, God’s people still are winning.
The people are wandering, you see Right there;
Surrounded by the heavenly hosts, to protect Her from danger.

We think the Devil is just a wimp, yet the Bible records,
The Devil stands, ready to grab, all throughout history
Right is seemingly annihilated, Evil reigns for good.
However, Truth will prevail, and in the shadows,
Lurks our Creator, in the dim, looking out over His people.

So, what do you think?

Websites, Surveys, Guestbooks, and Maps

I've been considering about changing my blog to a website. What do you all think? Post a comment, or take my survey at the bottom of the page. Also, post in my guestbook and place yourself on the map I've added!
Hello everybody! Congratulations to whoever was in Medicine Hat, Canada. I here it's very sunny over there!
I had to reset my Who Was Here section because it kept posting the numbers of time viewed, even when the page was refreshed. Now it counts unique visitors, which means it only comes once per computer. That means 12 people have viewed this so far. I'm waiting for 50.
I also decided to post a picture of my dog, Odyssey.
And the first person to guess where I'm from wins. Just put it in a comment!

Be prepared!

Hey everybody! Marvin here! On The Town of Odyssey, I plan to run in the elections coming up. So vote for me if you want to.

In my own ordinary life with my not-so-ordinary dog who has a mind of her own, we've been taking down all of our Christmas decorations (hard work)! I could live without it. But for now, your word of the day is: colloquialism-characteristics of informal speech.
Marvin D.

Saturday, January 2, 2010

Um, I have a poll for you to take. Please do it and then, if you want to, comment on your choice. Thanks! Now, dinner calls!
